i do have problems with my camera wanting to cycle thru shades of pinks and greens for no apparent reason but im going to the camera dude next week and see if he can figure it out. very important to set your white balance before shooting. if you dont know what im talking about just find your manual and do what it says to set it. i still dont 'get it' but i dont care i just want a good shot. i have better pics on the sunny days than the overcast. sometimes i hafta shoot elsewhere. prime example- the 'zen' necklace was taken on top of my washing machine lid- go figure.

I'm TOTALLY not surprised--I got "green dancer at midnight" by balancing my camera on end on a stack of TV trays--ANYTHING's possible...

I'm still learning the ins and outs of my new camera, but luckily I have a friend teaching a digital camera class at the college i work at, and he sent me his assigment list. If I actually DO any of it, I'll at least know what you (and he) are talking about one of these days....

Half of my jewelry's shot in the den on the floor--some of it's done in the living room near a South-facing window--basically anywhere i can catch a halfway decent looking shot....

I think I'll invest in a natural light bulb. And try opening the blinds on occasion. Thanks so much for your help! Hope I don't drive you nuts...

i thought i bought this lite that cost 17 bucks but now im looking at the catalog and it says its 50 bucks. so much for my cheap setup. thought id give you the low down on the light cuz i found that to be pretty important in the whole scheme. looks like i use an Ott-Lite task lamp that uses a 13 watt natural supplement bulb that simulates natural daylight.

I'll look around for one. Thanks for the tips!
